Overview
Stubaier Gletscher is Austria’s largest glacier ski domain, with pistes up to 3,210m and a season running from October to May. Just 45 minutes from Innsbruck, it combines guaranteed high-altitude skiing with a world-class snowpark (Stubai Zoo, home to the FIS Freeski World Cup) and serious freeride options.
It’s not a large domain by kilometre count (~65 km), but snow quality, consistent altitude and modern infrastructure more than compensate.

Giora’s advice
Stubaier Gletscher is my recommendation for season opener and closer (October–November and April–May), when valley resorts are shut. Also perfect as a glacier day within a stay in Innsbruck. For a full week, better to combine it with Stubai Valley (4 more resorts in the valley).
